Jo Ryan works, collaborates and applies research in urban tree care
and in the creation of functional green spaces.
I work, collaborate and apply research in urban tree care, and in the creation of functional green spaces.
I work with clients to help them manage existing tree stocks through survey, assessment and protection.
New treescapes are designed with human comfort, biodiversity and resilience at their heart.
I undertake work for individual tree owners, through to estates and local government, and regularly collaborate on multidisciplinary development projects.
New projects and landscapes are always approached with curiosity and interest, and it is a pleasure to see the treescapes of existing clients develop and mature.
I have trained in arboriculture and urban forestry, and have 30 years’ experience, providing advice and applying research relating to urban treescapes. I have a special interest in using trees and shrubs in designs for environmental benefit, particularly to promote microclimates for thermal comfort.
I am based in North Yorkshire.
